Hi all,

Was wandering what the situation is with finding work in Oz. My OH is a plumber so is hoping to be able to find work fairly easily , he has his provisional plumbers' licence. I, However, have been out of the workplace for 3 yrs I have been at home with my two boys 3 & 1. I will need to find part time work in Oz and feel quite nervous that noone will be interested in me as i have been out of work. Are there any agencies like the ones we have in the UK?, ie. where you do computer tests etc. and then they put you forward for anything they think you might be able to do.

Any advice would be appreciated, i will be working in the eve and wknds when OH is at home to watch the children and will be getting written refs from my last 2 employers.

Dont rely too much onthem weve been here since jan and my son still hasnt got an apprenticeship he wants to be a plumber. Also met a plumber who has been here in Bundaberg since DEc07 he has to sit lots of test to be up to the Oz standard although he had his own plumbing business in UK
If you search the word Bundaberg he is on a site called anyone with kids in Bundaberg his name is Millsey on there . Contact him im sure he'd help you out

Thanks,it's not a plumbing job i will be looking for, my OH has his provisional license ready and waiting, this means he can work underneath someone in Oz for 12months before he has to do course etc to get full licence (although he is likely to be on poor money for those twlve months:curse.
It is a p/t job for me i will be looking for, on the sunshine coast, eve/wknd possibly receptionist/shop work.
