Default Emirates cheapies!!

Hello everyone

Just a bit of info for anyone who is interested. In response to newspaper advertisements on the weekend we have booked our next trip to Oz in June. Emirates have some incredibly cheap fares - we got £488 plus taxes (£61) or £549 return from Glasgow to Melbourne. Emirates are starting from Glasgow to Dubai in April which is great for us because we have had to fly from Manchester in the past to get a direct flight.

We booked through Quest Travel, Kingston office, Joanne on 0208 481 4017 who is exceptionally competent and helpful (a Kiwi incidentally). Austravel had £560 originally (but agreed to match Quest when they called back after I'd booked!) and an Edinburgh agent £646 for the same flights. I'm sure Airline Network, Bridge the World, Flight Centre etc will have similar fares but they are going fast at the special rates.

Default Emirates & luggage!!

I'll give you a tenner if Emirates don't loose some luggage going or returning.

I've only got one stop! (Dubai)

And I'll have my fingers crossed all the way!

We got a really a really cheap deal (Dusseldorf-Dubai-Perth for about 630 euro's each). But of course no extra baggage allowance
But that is good, because if we do loose something, it won't be much! Mostly clothes. ALL other things will go in hand baggage!

Well, you owe me £60 so far because we've flown Emirates 6 times between us without any such problems.

There are 2 stops going out - Dubai and Singapore but coming back they have a new service which is direct from Melbourne to Dubai so it is only 1 stop.

Are you sure that is not one change at Dubai and a stop in Singapore?

I should have added that Emirates have 2 services daily from Dubai to Melbourne and vice-versa now - one is via Singapore and the other is direct so you can opt for 1 stop (Dubai) or 2 stops (Dubai and Singapore). We chose to 'do' Singapore on the way out but not coming back.
