john_w,
may i ask did you do any installations of Trunking (Duct in Australia) also did you install conduits at all & 240v rated cable single phase or 3 phase installs for the lift equipment.

if so then you should be fine, let me know what you have actually done on the install side of things. ONC is a decent qualification, but you must have experience in installing gear.

Briefly, Installed, tested and maintained 24vdc-120vdc wiring systems from contol systems in trunking / conduit. Also the same with 24vac-240vac voltages. Work on motor controls from 110v dc- 415vac, usual speed/ torque control systems from lrc circuits, star/delta to vv/vf controls. Loads of systems testing inc. insulation/ earthing/ conductor selection. PLC work and safety circuit design.Testing of safety switches and devices (thermal overloads to RCD's)And lifts even include lighting circuits and power sockets too:rofl:
Thge main problem I have is all my stuff says lift engineer on it and although the side of the trade I usually do is obviuosly electrically biased and will need an electricians license, ARTC do not recognise lift 'mechanics' as an electrical trade.

john_w;

you can ask your company for a letter stating that you are involved in installation of electrical equipment of 240v also 415 volt gear.
Make sure all correspondence is on headed note paper & dated & signed,
then get your Arse back to the Artec mob and ask for a reclassification on the evidence you can supply, even though you may be classed as a lift engineer your actually an electrician and provide the proof in the paperwork. showing you use trunkings (duct here) conduits of all sort and all switchboard equipment.

Make sure you add every tool you have ever used, and i mean every tool if only used the once, also point out you are connecting electrical cables to switchboards (dist board) again on a daily basis. also add in you install 240v lighting circuits & 240 power circuits & any 3 phase stuff.

dont give up mate, think positive make sure you list everything then get them all signed & dated the whole frigging lot.

Hell we can't let a decent spark like you slip through the net.
