Default The effects of tax

Following from some depressing posts about how much we'd need to earn to maintain lifestyle, could anyone tell me what sort of monthly take-home salary a yearly salary of $100 000 would give and also $150 000.

I know there are a lot of other expenses etc but i want to get an idea of how much is left over after the tax-man visits.

thanks
grant

Take off another 1.5% to 2.5% of your gross salary for medicare levies.

Then you should have approx take home pay.

Of course when filing your tax return you may either get some tax refunded or have to pay more.

thanks for the replies, very handy calculator.
If i'm on a 457 visa and can't claim medicare, would that medcare levy be different/absent?

thanks again

From memory, we did have to pay the medicare levy because our healthcover did not qualify us for the exemption. We couldn't get anything other than glorified travel insurance, meaning we paid loads for not much
You do qualify for medicare if you are from the UK as there is a reciprocal agreement in place. If that's the case, then you have to pay the levy.
