Education Visa (418)-Can spouse work?
Hello,
New to this forum, hope someone can help.
I've applied for a post-doctoral research job in Aus, been informed that I'm shortlisted and that if if I end up being offered the job, the university would sponsor me for an Education Visa (subclass 418), which would allow me temporary residence for the 3-year duration of my contract.
I'm married, & can't seem to find any definite information if my husband would have full working rights if he came with me? I know he would be listed on my visa, but not sure if that just means he can come & stay, but not work, or if he'll be able to work too.
Many thanks for any information!
Anna

I think you need a 475 to work, not 100% but thats what I have been given which enables my wife to work when she finally arrives on my visa
U do need to check, try these sites :
http://www.aussiemove.com
http://www.newcomersnetwork.com
or the Austalian Immigration Authority
Hope this helps

Hi Anna,
If you post your question again on the Aus immigration forum on this site you may will get an answer. A lot of agents answer queries like yours, on that forum.

Sorry!
Sorry - posted in the wrong forum!! I kept checking back in the Immigration section & wondering if my question had been censored for some reason - duh!
Apologies for being such a muppet.
