In Melbourne, primary school is until grade 6. No idea what it's called after that. Older one attends Macrob (a selective school from years 9-12) where year 9-10 is called middle school and 11-12 is senior school.
I did think of you and Plantpot after I wrote remembered you had school aged kids. Horizon was a pretty good school, closest thing to an Australian school you could get in Dubai I think. Yeah my kids go to a state college here in Brisbane which is prep to 12 so Junior School is P-5, Middle 6-9 and Senior 10-12. Most of the P-12 private schools run that way too.
