Default Edison screw or bayonet?

Can someone remind me which system is used in Oz - ES or British bayonet? We have some lamps which we want to bring and I can't remember!

Both. One or other better. Suggest standardize on bayonet.

mostly bayonet here but if your lamps are unique or expensive I wouldnt worry about them being screw-in or bayonet. I would replace the fitting if you couldnt get the correct bulbs here in oz

Thanks. Guess I'll have some of each then!

I must say I prefer Edison and his screw. Friend of mine almost cut his hand off trying to remove a bayonet globe and it shattered. He's sold on candles now <g>

screw-in can be a pain too. they sometimes get stuck with the beginings of rust caused by humidity and the glass breaks trying to unscrew it. A tip in this situation is to use a potatoe to unscrew the broken bulb but make sure the light switch is off !!
