Thanks for all your answers everyone. Looks like I'll just use a relatives address and get it changed.

Do they really punch a hole in your UK one when you get an Aussie one?

Have a good flight pioneer and ladywithatorch...!

I can assure you that on the Gold Coast, they do not punch a hole in our UK licences. Not sure where this idea came from.

They do in some states not in others.

We are going from heathrow to adelaide with singapore - -what time is your flight? Ours is 22.15.

Our flight leaves at 2pm. So we will be gone as you probably arrive at airport.

They don't do it in WA either.

Maybe its just a VIC thing but they do put a hole punch through your UK Driving licence here.

If we do need it again just advise DVLA of the new address otherwise its just a "souvenir" of a previous life :)
