Default is this dumb???

hubby and i are hoping to be in oz in august and i will give my mum and dad about 2 months before they come out on hols ONLY they have 2 dogs. i know this may sound really dumb but can you get pet passports to travel to oz as i can see them spending a few months at a time which would mean an awful lot of kennel costs.

apologies if some may find this a dumb question, but i can't stop my head from asking all these questions

I`m not sure I thought the pet passport scheme was within Europe only (could be wrong though) Australia is pretty tough on most things animals/animal products though

Don't dogs have to go into quarantine for a period of time?

Plus they are more expensive to transport than humans

Yeah, it's 30 days. Which defeats the purpose of taking them over for a visit in the first place.

I found something out about you....

Vash the Stampede (ヴァッシュ・ザ・スタンピード Vasshu za Sutanpīdo) is the main character, also known as The Humanoid Typhoon and Valentinez Alkalinella Xifax Sicidabohertz Gombigobilla Blue Stradivari Talentrent Pierre Andri Charton-Haymoss Ivanovici Baldeus George Doitzel Kaiser the Third, a unique alias he presented to Wolfwood a little ways into the anime. He is the first person to be declared "an act of God" or "a human disaster". He was initially discovered by Meryl and Milly when he was chased by some bandits who wanted to collect the $$60 billion bounty on his head. He escapes and Milly and Meryl eventually learn that this is the person they are supposed to track.

Vash presents an interesting "hero" for this kind of story: a girl crazy, crybaby, a pacifist and occasionally an apparent buffoon. He is in fact extremely intelligent, has god-like reflexes, perfect muscle control, blurring speed over short distances and is superhumanly agile, demonstrating the ability to dodge point-blank bullets on several occasions. He is an unrivaled gunman who seeks to preserve life wherever possible. Vash exaggerates his foolish characteristics to make people feel unthreatened and to hide his identity (Vash's reputation as "The Humanoid Typhoon" is legendary, as is the damage and destruction associated with his presence). In fact, Vash shows complete focus and control when the chips are down and when he is attacking. He also has an almost obsessive love of plaincake doughnuts.

Vash, in a very real sense, has a dual personality throughout the series. He is jovial and carefree, yet he has seen so many people suffer and die in his life that he has achieved near total control over his outward emotional display. In a more specific sense, however, Vash is constantly conflicted by the violent anger coursing throughout his soul, his deep inner pain, and his sincere desire for peace amidst the world. His smile is noted by some to be hollow and empty, and appears to be full of sadness to the more central characters of the story who stay by his side.

Indeed, Vash is a multidimensional character who, despite his age, has still not found peace with himself and the world that continues to shun him in fear. Of note is the inner difference between him and Knives (his brother) in regards to humanity. Though Vash and Knives have gone through the same experience and torment, Vash has chosen to remain hopeful and loving towards humanity whereas Knives has fallen into a deep-seated hatred of the human race. Their personalities also have key differences: Vash cannot stand the despair of being alone, whereas Knives revels in his loneliness and has no desire for company except that of Vash.

Vash is 131 years old, a being called a Freeborn Plant. He and his brother, Knives, are the outcome of lost technology. Although Vash is naturally immortal, he can die if he is fatally wounded.

He lost his left arm in an incident involving Knives and as a result, he possesses a cybernetic arm that transforms into a gun at the hand (a semi-automatic pistol early on and later a fully automatic sub-machine gun). Vash is in fact not a human, but a human-like "Plant", a source of power and energy on the planet; as a Plant, he doesn't age (he is 131 years old) and he can, with his gun, turn his right arm into an amazingly destructive weapon called an "Angel Arm", originating from technology which Knives created. In the manga, he doesn't require the gun to form the Angel Arm. The gun is a custom-made but otherwise normal handgun. He can also use his Angel Arm for various effects beyond destruction, but using the Angel Arm reduces his lifespan. This is indicated by the amount of black hair a Plant has; for every use of a Plant's power, their hair turns darker. In the manga, the dark patch of hair on the back of Vash's head is an indicator of the use of his power as is the streak of black hair off of Knives' brow. Throughout the manga, Vash's hair turns darker until it's almost completely black.

His gun resembles a Mateba Autorevolver because of the lower barrel alignment but, according to writing on the barrel, fires .45 Long Colt ammunition like a Single Action Army. The inscription on his gun reads: "EF Auto Ejecting Double Action." However, Knives may have modified the barrel before he gave it to Vash.

In an incident, Vash shoots his brother Millions Knives in the leg, then takes both Angel Guns and runs off into the desert. He spent two years alone wandering the desert without food or water, then he finally collapsed. He awoke to find himself surrounded by humans on an airborne SEEDS ship about 35,000 feet in the air. It was the only functioning SEEDS ship left on the planet, which didn't quite crash 17 years ago. While there he made human friends and was suited with a stylish custom made red trenchcoat and heavy armament. After a few months he left the ship and ventured out into the world. Vash returned to the ship 80 years later in search of any relatives of Rem in its databanks, but only found one still alive: PASSENGER NO.300-89-9023AS "Revnunt Buskus". Buskus had studied Plants and established a new plant-theory in July City. Vash went to July City in the hopes of meeting him, but when he entered the room he only found Knives standing over Revnut's dead body. Knives stated: "Hey Vash! Now everything that brought you and Rem together is finally gone." Enraged by Knives, Vash lashed out, but Knives quickly shot Vash's left arm off. He then activates Vash's Angel Arm in an attempt to destroy the city and everyone in it, but Vash turns the Angel Arm on Knives instead.

It is likely that the title "Trigun" refers to Vash's three main weapons: the revolver, his surgically-implanted hidden machine gun, and the apocalyptically powerful Angel Arm. Another interpretation would be the three guns that in the last episode help seal the fate of the planet: Vash's Angel Arms, Knives' pistol, and Wolfwood's Punisher.

Vash the Stampede makes a cameo appearance in the videogame Wild Arms 2.

yep 30 days quarantine and approx £2000 cost to ship. Pet passport scheme is only for mainland europe I believe.

get them a housesitter! it works out cheaper and less upseting for the animals.

I would agree about finding a good pet/housesitter. Many pets make the journey once or twice, but I would imagine that doing it often would be very stressful on the animals.

Best of luck
