Been wondering this for a while and can't find the answers on google or this forum - does your dvla driving record carry over in Australia? When getting insurance for a car - is it a clean slate or does your previous convictions show up, such as a DD ban?

When you sign up for car insurance you'll be asked to provide history of disqualifications...within a certain time frame.

If you answer there's been a disqualification in an electronic quote process, quite likely you won't be able to proceed further.

Might need a specialist insurer or broker.

How are your answers checked?
