Driving in NSW
We're about to arrive in the Sydney area in the next few weeks but we're a tad concerned about some stories regarding having to retake our driving test.
We've heard conflicting rumours that despite having a clean UK licence for the past 5 years we'll still have to take a theory test.
Also we've heard that our UK licence will only be valid for our first 3 months there whereas if we invest in an international licence then that'll cover us for a year.
Does anyone know if either of these rumours are true ?
Also, concerning insurance - do Ozzy insurance companies accept no claims bonuses aquired in the UK or do we lose them & have to start from scratch ?
Cheers

Re: Driving in NSW
Hello,
If you are PR then your UK licence is valid for 3 months. If temp then it is valid for as long as you are here.
NSW now has a straight licence swap (no more theory test).
Aus Insurance companies do accept no claims from the UK. Some of them don't even ask for proof (under the presumption that if you lied and have an accident then they don't pay out).
