Hiya
Alex only has a UK paper licence (she never exchanged for a photocard).
When we get to Bris in August will she be able to exchange the paper licence for a Qld licence or do you need a UK photocard?
We still have just enough time to swap for a photocard before leaving but there's no point if the paper one is acceptable.
We'll be changing them ASAP as I have to have a Qld licence for work

Paper one should be fine. My hubby used the paper one and they swapped it no problem

Same here. No probs with transferring the licence. No test either in WA. Just an eye test.

No, it's been abolished for about 9 months now, so it's just a straight swap.

We got ours today from the Queensland Transport Office at 766 Gympie Road.

-Get your queue number from the ticket machine
-Fill in form FM3000
-Wait for your number to be called
-Provide 3 forms of ID: Passport, Visa, Credit/Debit Card
-Provide proof of address (we used our rental/tenancy agreement)
-Provide UK driving licence (we used our photocard ones)
-Pay $65 (for a 5 yr licence)
-Have photo taken
-Wait for name to be called
-Collect licence

It's a very straightforward and very quick process
