did you already have your app in when you got told you didn't have to pay as i'm about 8 weeks in on main app as a general electrician.
Would love not to have to pay the bond.

cheers

I read somewhere that if the rules change after submitting your application then the new rules apply to new applications not to applications already in the process. So if you wanted to take advantage of the new rules you would have to apply again !

I'm not sure if this is right or wrong just something I have read, probably JAJ could comment.

But I do know in the past when it was expected the points system would change most people would try to get their application in before the change date because your appliocation is then lodged on that date and regardless of what changes later on, once your application has been lodged on a particular date, it doesn't matter what then changes. So if this works in your favour if the rules go against you, say a 5 point rise in the pass mark won't affect your application because it has already been lodged before the increase, how come you could use the new rules for your already lodged application just because the new rules may go in your favour this time ?

Just a thought !

Hi,
Just wanted to say a BIG THANKS for letting us know about points, hubby an electrician and we were sending bond money this wk as agent said visa's there for us as soon as they receive it, but after reading yr thread i emailed her and she got intouch with our CO, and has just rang us this morning to say we no longer have to send it as we now have enough points so visa's granted without it.

Thanks again

Lisa
