obligation to do so.

No central computer as far as I'm aware. If there's anything particular you want your
doctor to know, tell him.
Personally I think it's a lot more sensible than the bureaucracy in the UK where you
can only use one GP, and you generally find you need 3-4 weeks notice to see him,
plus get an appointment at an awakward time for those who work during the day.

Re: Dont forget your medical history!
Well,I took your advice, and wrote to my GP to say I WAS entitled to my records.
His secretary rang the next day,& said we could have a general history for £50,or a more comprehensive one for 15 pence per page.As you can imagine,I've got years of mental illness living with someone who waxes more than me,so I made an appointment.I booked a Monday morning one on the previous Friday????So why is it when any of us are ill, they can't see us for 3-4 years, unless we turn up at 8 o'clock & queue on the off-chance.
Anyway, they phoned yesterday(Monday) at 7 A.M!!!! to say not to bother coming in,they'll photocopy all our documents for £30..
Amazing what money can get you, can't wait to join Medicare
Thanks again for all the advice.

Little known fact: if you need a complete bank statement record, your bank MUST give it to you under the Data Protection Act for a fee not to exceed GBP10 - none of this 'GBP5 a page' that most of them spout.
