We've been here for a good few months now and I wished we'd gone to Australia instead.New Zealand is introspective and small minded. The housing is crap, the infrastructure is appaling, there is no longterm planning becoz she'll be alright mate" is the national motto .You will be fleeced the moment you get off the plane. Can t' say you've not bin warned.

really sorry to hear it's pretty crap out there for you at the moment. But you know, back in England you would probably experience a few crap months through the year . Put it all down to that there's someone out there that is just really testing u out on this one, and just relly try and stick this one out as you could all look back and laugh about this soon. Good Luck, and stay chilled.

Someone, oftne a new user with 1 post to their name, who puts up an inflammatory post simply to take satisfaction from the ructions they cause. Typically they provide little evidence or background of their own situation.

In my previous posts l have warned people against moving to NZ. The Prime Minister is a far left looney, lesbian that has sent the country bankrupt,
Large Numbers of New Zealanders move to OZ each year while few Aussies move to NZ, does'nt this tell you something. The country recently had to sell off its airforce because it could'nt even pay the cost of maintaining the planes. If OZ did'nt allow New Zealanders to move to OZ freely there would be thousands of NZ boat people washing up on our shores. The weather is cold compared to OZ's sunny climate and the beaches are crap even if it was'nt too cold to go swimming. Gangs of Mauri and pacific Islanders roam the streets. The OZ economy is much larger and stronger
higher wages, more employment opportunities and OZ has more things to do and see and places to go.

Your 2nd post establishes you as not being a troll. You have my sympathy - I'm afraid I would never live in NZ (unless short term and someone else paid all the costs involved). None the less, if you've only been there 3 months you have also got early immigrant syndrome - you'd probablyhate being in Perth by now as well, so in that sense it gets better- you'll get more used to it.

I guess you could be right! Still finding everything very expensive though, how do people make ends meet here? I hear the standard of living is better in Australia, perhaps that is why there are so many kiwis over in Aus.

The rot set in for me when that school in Russia was stormed and all those poor kids died.We turned over to TV1 to see what was going on and watched with the same disbelief that we did on 9/11.The next day there was an article saying that viewers had phoned in to TV1 to complain about Coronation street being cancelled and what did it matter since it was of no concern to NZ anyway.

Have we done the right thing I wonder?

We are a family of 7 kiwis and moved from NZ to the sunshine coast in Oz in July 04. I cant say much good about NZ after being here. I have the great weather, beaches close by, the waters not too cold for my old bnes like it is in NZ, a fresh water lake close by, its cleaner, drivers are better, the govt in Oz supports families - not like NZ where they treat you like bludgers and helen Clark is a disaster for the country, the cops here are few and far between not like NZ where they patrol the highways like wasps looking for someone to sting , theres lots more to do, pay is better, power and petrol is alot cheaper, furniture whiteware tools household goods are much cheaper. Im in shorts & T shirt most of the time, get up earlier because its easy to do it, spend more time outdoors. Financially we are better off. I could go on but wont bore you. Oz is a better lifestyle no question about it.

Dont knock the guy...HE'S RIGHT!!!!...well..in my opinion anyway. My husband also agrees and he's a kiwi!!

I hate Auckland. Living there for 2yrs was 18mths too long for me, and we lived in one of the prettiest parts of it, Titirangi.

sounds wonderfull, where's my passport!! Some sun would be great.Agree with you about the drivers here, the koreans are the worst and this stupid rule about giving way to the right when turning into junctions is pathetic.I've seen a number of accidents almost caused by the car coming up behind the one giving way, overtaking it and then nearly going into the side of the car that is turning.Did that make sense!

Why are you Poms so affraid of spiders, they are just an insect, wasps and bees have killed many more people but your not affraid of them, Its like a dinosour being affraid of a mouse, no one has been kiled by a spider bite in OZ since the 1950. Did you really choose NZ over OZ because you thought there were less spiders there.
