#1
We are flying out 31st May to land Perth 1st June. Only got 2 weeks booked as a holiday home, until we find soemwhere we want to be. What do I do about my mail from UK, do I need to give an Oz address for forwarding or a different UK, such as my mum's?
Please help someone, getting too stressed now, it's getting closer and closer!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hiya, no need to be stressed ....... just take one decision at a time....
For my mail, I advised pretty much most of the important people to forward to my Australian address (I was fortunate to have a place here already).
If you don't have an Australian address then have it sent to a friend or family in the UK.
Once you arrive and buy/rent/find a place to live, type up a standard letter and send it to all and sundry (with appropraite reference numbers etc) advising of your new address.
The only one I had a problem with was my UK bank account - but they were happy for me to give them an Australian addres for fcorresopndence, but an english residential address for reference purposes (so if I buy something online I can use the Uk address, but all the mail come to Australia).
not forget to bring important paperwork with you - you will need things like work references, insurance documents (to get no claims discounts), bank statements (if you are going to get a loan, they will want proof of your saving etc.
If in doubt, run it through a photocopier and leave copies with your parents/frineds, if you find that you need something tell them to post it to you. For example, I gave an envelope toa friend in it were a series of otehr envelopes, one with all my car insurance details, one with all my bank details, one with all my taxation details etc .....if I ever need anything I can phone them and say - 'hey, send me the envelope with .......'
One thing at a time!
good luck - don't get stressed, its onlyh moving house, people do it every day!

Could be worth investigating a Post Office Box at post office local to work or in the area you plan to live.....

the exception being things like my car license and gun license (and I think my boat license) because they need your residential address for those.
