Dom Perrottet and Opus Dei
Today I learned that Dom Perrottet has 11 siblings and his parents Anne and John now live in the USA. But here's where it gets really interesting
So, exploring that a bit more I also learned
I'm sure that isn't a big deal though. Right? The Opus Dei spokesman in Australia said
Anne and John Perrottet, who now live in the US, sent Mr Perrottet to the Catholic school Redfield College in Dural, where the school’s chaplain was an Opus Dei priest.
As an alumnus of Redfield College in Dural and his family has connections to its sister school, Tangara, in Cherrybrook.
Both schools are linked to Opus Dei: a highly conservative and private Catholic prelature founded in the 1920s and given approval within the Catholic Church in 1950.

"parents who sent their children to its schools “may be” Opus Dei members but “any overlap would be a personal interest in [Opus Dei’s] message".....
Former students who attended Redfield and Tangara throughout the 2000s and 2010s and who spoke to the Herald said the portion of their peers with some sort of connection to Opus Dei ranged between a quarter and half of the school population".

Re: Dom Perrottet and Opus Dei
Earlier this year Dom Perrottet's brother Alex Perrottet stopped being a RNZ journalist after spending 11 years in New Zealand and became the Dean of Warrane College. It was something of a promotion for him:
Warrane College Our Vision
Alex Perrottet has been appointed Dean, effective 15 May 2021. Alex returned to Warrane at the beginning of this year after spending 11 years in New Zealand as a journalist for Radio New Zealand, the country’s national broadcaster. He is also a lawyer and was formerly Assistant Dean of the College from 2006-2009.
Warrane College is a project of Education Development Association, a not-for-profit company and a registered charity. The pastoral care of the College has been entrusted to Opus Dei, an institution of the Catholic Church.

Poor Gladys, she never stood a chance really. The Old Boy network got her. A very Australian Coup.

ICAC obviously feel they have enough to investigate her. If they clear her then her career is back on. She really should have stepped aside when all this came up last year. Nobody to blame but herself

Err, I think you'll find that she resigned, not sacked - it certainly came out of the blue as she'd been doing a good job for NSW

As I said, it was a very Australian coup.Timing is everything.
Morrison is riding with Perrottet. His entire election strategy depends upon a successful opening-up in NSW. Perrottet is carrying Morrison’s fortunes before him. Have no doubt, across the nation progressive politicians, premiers, media and health experts will wait and launch a withering counter-attack if NSW comes under too great a strain and struggles to cope. This is a watershed moment in Australia’s power struggle.
Long-time federalist and former vice-chancellor of the Australian Catholic University Greg Craven says the Australian commonwealth is at risk. “The Australian states are ripping this federation apart,” Craven tells ÂInquirer. “It is true they have their grievances. Canberra never respected their constitutional rights and treated them as mendicant Âirritations. But what a revenge.
Already, it realistically is impossible to imagine Western Australia or Queensland voluntarily implementing Morrison’s 70 to 80 per cent national vaccination plan. Ironically, for someone who has supported state rights all his life I’m deeply worried about where we are.

Re: Dom Perrottet and Opus Dei
I see Dom Perrottet is losing no time promoting his 'family values' and winning over the female vote:
NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet enjoys a beer on Monday with Deputy Premier Paul Toole and Treasurer Matt Kean at Watson’s Pub in Moore Park
Blokes and beer: Perrottet’s messaging won’t help get the Coalition re-elected.

What's taking her so long?

Re: Dom Perrottet and Opus Dei
Nonsense - in your head only I'm afraid - and maybe in the heads of some nutf**ker leftie journalists
She made a rod for her own back with ICAC. If they clear her, she'll be back - she's definitely an effective political operator. In the meantime, NSW has a new, democratically elected premier - who just happens to be right-wing, conservative and a hard nut catholic. I have no real opinion on his religion (but he is infinitely entitled to his beliefs) but the other two points are things to admire in a politician - and NSW will benefit from him leading that state. I liked what he said the other day about him being the 'elected official' and he was making the decisions - and not hiding behind unelected health bureaucrats and some of the bullshit that they've come out with over the last 2 years. Good for him - let the people decide
