Yup. We board our boys with a lovely breeder/boarding kennel in Southern River called Animal Kapers.

When we go to pick them up they usually don't want to come home with us they're so spoiled! Tell them Moose's mum sent you.

Hi Dorothy,

This is of interest to me. We normally use a kennels near us, but I was looking for another one, where my dogs would have a holiday too, as they hate going where I send them and I am unsure about them and dont like leaving them there.
Do these have a website I can look at? Are they anywhere near the Perth airport? What good things do they have there?

We use the Paw house in Canningvale, www.thepawhouse.com.au, our dog loves going there, when we go on holiday it's also holidays for him too!

We were recommended to West Coast Petcare centre, http://www.west-coast.com.au/index.html by a friend who volunteered at the Swan Animal Rescue Haven so we knew she'd only give us a good recommendation.

We've been kennelling our German Shepherd with them since he was 20 weeks old (we wanted him to get used to it from a young age) and he bounces around the car like a puppy every time we turn into their road to drop him off. We always wondered whether he really gets the treats & walks that you pay for, but a friend worked there for a while & used to go home knackered from all the walking, playtimes & even cat hug times she had to get through in a day Even better, the dog curls up exhausted for 24 hours once he's home so you get to recover from your holiday in peace

They're not the cheapest but they're bloody good, and you need to book early if you want to get your pet in there on public holiday or school holiday dates. They'll show you round if you go in during office hours & ask to have a look.

We used Top Dog Minders in Perth when we had to leave our Italian Mastiff for a few days. Basically they get your dog homed with a family at their own home, who you can check out and vet before leaving your pet with them.

I'd recommend them.

We've used them a lot too! As our dog is an indoor dog, this suits us much better. She is looked after in the minder's home and treated as part of the family.

They don't have a website but if you ring Mark and Kaye first to make sure they're home you can go around there and have a look. They breed Golden Retrievers (Moose came from there) and German Shepherds and are members of the AKC. When Moose goes he's spoilt rotton by them. I think it's a matter of they just truly love dogs and it shows in how they treat them.
