Hi guys
We are due to be flying in 12 weeks and I cannot wait. Congratulations to anybody else that has been granted since I last checked, and fingers crossed for those of you still waiting. My question is really to people who have already emigrated or are more prepared than we are.
I asked my doctor for handover records to take with us when we move to give to the new doctor and the grumpy receptionist said that they don't let us leave the country with our file, however if we give them an exact list of what we want they can do it but would have to charge. I have no problem with the charge, but what do we actually need from them?

Hi Denise
I was at the doctors yesterday and queried the same thing, the doctor said the file has to stay in the UK but all I would need is a list of immunizations and when my last smear test was done. Unless you are on any medication long term then this is the only information you need to take with you.

Thanks again to both of you

Save your money, and don't bother with the aggravation of trying to get copies of everything...

Our Dr's in the UK charged us £11.50 for a copy of our records. Mark's was hardly worth it as he hadn't been the GP for 25yrs! Our boys literally just had their immunisations, plus coughs and colds and few things about our eldest who has Aspergers. I wouldn't worry about getting them. If your on any meds, just bring a copy of prescriptions.
