BIG difference here and in NZ is that you don't have a letterbox that drops mail inside your house. You have a post box at the end of your drive that mail goes into. Some of them you can lock, some you cannot, but it's a very insecure system thats why I use PO boxes for my important mail.
No I don't know my Postpersons name as I've never even seen him in 3 years. Could be because I leave at 07:15 and don't get back till 18:00.:) :) |
Originally posted by Kath Our moped postie looks like the motorcycle guy out of the Village People's YMCA video, dark glasses, mostache. My first encounter with him was nearly knocking him off his bike as I was pulling out my drive. Those mopeds are dangerous! I could tell you some great stories - underwear being stolen from women's washing lines, heroin being injected on the way to work, Post vans with sleeping bags in the back, post being thrown away or dumped to get away early. Kids, ******s and drunks is how they describe themselves. |

has anyone here in Oz actually got a mail box big enough for the letters!?? Whenever we have anything its on a day when its been chucking it down with rain and the letters are saturated!!!! Our postie is neither a she or a he, they only employ she-he's thats why they never get off their bikes, don't speak and NEVER take off there helmets:scared:

When I was growing up in London, not only did our postman not speak to us, he didn't even write to us. However, when I left hell street in my youth and settled in Oz, it was all different. Now, not only does the postie speak to us, she is like one of the family and we went to her wedding last week. It was a smashing do and you know what she said at the end? She said "I love you, Mr and Mrs Wilf". That is what you are coming to.
God bless us all here. |
Oh Wilfie - you are a tease....
