Default Do they contact employer for PR Visa?

Hi,

Has anyone out there who has received their visa or pre-grant had their current employer contacted by the immi department in Adelaide?

I have managed to wangle all of the references by fibbing about renewing my mortgage etc. I am worried that they may contact my employer, though I don't know what for! My agent says that I have a full set of references and work history.
Do they contact your employer as a matter of course ?
I really don't want them to find out as it will be a long time until I leave my job and could cause friction.

Any one heard of this happening ?

They don't contact the employer (ie the boss) as a matter of course, you should indicate if that will make life difficult for you and give an alternative way for DIMIA to verify your work history (eg sympathetic colleague). But they reserve the right to contact your employer even so.
