Not sure about the DVDs but the games will - Bought our son one in S/pore on teh way over and it's ok for games, but th emovies have a different region code.

Playstation claim that all there games are region free, UMD's are region encoded though :( but IMO your best downgrading the firmware so you can run homebrew.....muhahahahahah :)

As for the power, all you need is a figure of 8 cable, mine's a jap model and all I did was use the cable from an old tape player and i've never had any problems with it.
