If you apply for an Australian licence (which I believe your obliged to do within about 3 months of arriving) and you obtain it on the basis of having an overseas licence, your UK licence will be cancelled. They punch a hole in it.

Just think you can collect fines on hire cars in the UK and they will all go to your old address.
Unfortunately the DVLC do not have any contingency for UK license holders who move abroad and could come back. You would think they would have a special code with forwarding addresses or something but no, I guess that is toooo logical.:confused: |
