Thumbs down Re: Do Aussie's really give their kids Fairy Bread???

Yep...'fraid so.

But usually only at parties and other mass kiddy gatherings.

The amount of additives available in kid/snack foods can be alarming at times, glow in the dark lime green cordial and usually 'coke' as the prefered drink to name but a few examples....

Quite a few large kids and teenagers to be seen

DS had some at a bday party & has asked for it at home since. Like anything IMO - in moderation I suppose.

Reminds me of when I was a kid, tastes like nothing though - well bread I suppose !

Could almost drop a piece of bread butter side down onto the pavement, pick it up, close your eyes & eat it - it'd taste pretty much the same.... almost!

I made fairy bread for a party in the UK - was hugely popular (I used biscuit cutters to make nice shapes) and can't see that it does any harm as a treat - I served up carrot sticks and halved grapes as well!

It looks just like regular bread but with butter and sprinkles on top. Is that right, or is it a different kind of bread that's more like cake?

I've heard of it, but I've never seen it or tasted it.

I love sweets but that does sound kind of gross. Now...if it was a cake type bread then I think I'd be all for it!

The first time I saw it on TV I thought it was part of a comedy sketch - but it does appear at every party. I think it's revolting and, luckily, so do my girls

Prepared it, eaten it, dished it out to child.

As said, everything in moderation ... mmmm, could do with some now actually ...

Yep! We've had it at parties.

In one of my topics at uni one person every week had to bring a food that was culturally significant to them. One week someone brought in fairy bread and everyone went mad for it! Yuk!
