Cool difference between australia and britian

Hi ppl!

i am currently a student in London and never been to australia.
however, from what i hear from ppl australia is a great place and since its harder for me to immigrate to britian im considering the australia option.
i would really like for people who lived in both countries to give me their opinions about it.
1. how are the people in australia comparing to those in the UK?
2. in terms of the gay scene - how are the gay people? i gotta say that the london gay scene is a bit bitchy .. i wonder how it is in australia.
3. How is it for IT people in terms of salaries and work hours?
4. whats the best city to settle in.

Thanks in advance for your answers

Hi - I've spent some time in Australia last year and I am currently awaiting for my PR visa (permanant residence).

Australians are very relaxed people, laid back and very tolerant to all nationalitys and communities, especially the gay community. Sydney is the best city for gays.

As regards the difference between Australia and Britian - well the mot obvious reason why Australia is better is the weather.

As for the best place to live - that depends on the individual so I don't think I can help you there ! We're moving to Melbourne (hopefully soon - fingers crossed) as we felt it was a better place to live in with young children. This is entirely my opinion and I do not want to spark off a discussion for other migrants who settled in other Australian states.

Hope this helps.
