We have been living in Berwick Melbourne for 6 weeks and are desperately seeking a good curry house, serving food we recognise not stodge or beef!
Any help with names would be appreciated! how could we be expected to live like this any longer?

I know what you mean, bit like sausages with us!
The best (and cheapest) place we've come across is near the Queen Vic market, and it's a tiny place on Elizabeth street on the block after the market on the left hand side (if you're on a tram from the city). It has an amazing butter chicken for $7 or something. Sorry though, might be a bit far for you...
Good luck with your quest!

Again, probably a bit for, but there's a really good one on Commercial Road in South Yarra (on the 72 route) - the Tandoor.

A bit far out for you I know but if you are ever in Albert Park area The Roti Man in Armstrong Street is very good (or was when we last ate there!)
