Why do I hear about so many cases of depression in Australia ?
Are the people more honest than the people in the UK about depression?
Or are they just more depressed ?
Lot of poms over here on the depression tables !!!
Since moving to Australia , I have meet so many people on medication for depression !!!
Never mind the likes of
Geoff Gallop ( WA premier) Chris Scase ( Aussy big wig).

May be because of the change. There are many factors that can cause depression.

I know that there are many causes for depression.
But does the act of moving to Australia bring out the depression that was just lying bellow the surface back home ?
Or is Australia just a depressing place [Geof Gallop] ?

In project lunch I discussed that its being a hard decision given the position and demand the he had and he replied he was thinking for a while and he will move out of IT. If things wont work out he'll hopefully back. I am for sure he was stressed out you can make out sometimes...
May be new year resolution, whatever will miss the right man.

Everyone, will at some time in their life be affected by depression -- their own or someone else's, according to Australian Government statistics. (Depression statistics in Australia are comparable to those of the US and UK.)
I just complete a checklist, and ticked the following:
2. Lost interest or pleasure in most of your usual activities?
3. Lost or gained a lot of weight?
5. Felt slowed down, restless or excessively busy?
6. Felt tired or had no energy?
8. Had poor concentration?
which ended up saying I more than likely have a depressive illness.
Personally I put it down to eating too much, no exercise, no energy. I should do something about it like get out and excercise, and lose some of this weight, but.... maybe just tablets from the doctor will do, as I must be depressed

It may be spending too much time on the computer of course

Imagine going round and asking everyone on your street in the UK, if they were talking depression medication
Not sure it would go down very well with some of my old neighbours
Thinking about it, I know more about my neighbours health here than I ever did back then. Maybe people are more open here ?

Poms beware ,
The stress of moving downunder can ignite your hidden depression !
And if you're already depressed this is the place to live, things always
seem better in the sunshine
On a lighter note
If you choke a smurf, what color does it turn?
