Default Deferring date of first entry

I have my date of first entry for Oz as April 2004. Does anyone know if it's possible to defer this (by say 6 months for example).
I assume there will be implications with having to get medicals/police checks redone.
Has anyone done this? Can it be done?

Thanks in advance
Greg.

Don't know if this helps in your circumstances, but couldn't you just visit Oz to validate on a holiday, and actually emigrate later?

Default Re: Deferring date of first entry

depends on type of visa i think. my husband alan was granted a spouse visa and initial entry date given was by 8th july 2003. emailed our lady at dimia requesting a later date and she emailed us back with a new date of oct 8th 2003 with the proviso that if that date was not honoured alan would have needed to get new police checks and medicals.
always worth asking.
