I think you're getting a bit upset and defensive on this thread because you've basically asked for people's advice on how to not pay the payments you're due to pay. Which yes, is called a scam or scamming.

You've asked 'can they chase me overseas' which means you're going to try to not pay the HMRC whatever you owe - rather than set up a payment plan on the agreed figure. So, rather than getting upset at people on here answering your question about 'will you get chased' then just try to chill a bit and listen to the advice people are trying to give you.

I tried to warn in the 2nd post but then I got abuse for that.

Many posts later. ........ ah alas.

Anyhow. Looks like they have gone now. Didn't hear the answer they wanted.

Does anyone know the UK phone numbers for HMRC to make an inquiry tax bill, and also a number to arrange a payment plan?

Try Google, and just ring HMRC, they will soon forward your call to the correct department.

Have you actually looked at the requirements for a Solicitor emigrating to Australia?

I don't think Australians actually do training contracts, you will need to check.

I suspect that even if they do training contract in Australia the competition is incredible and they are going to give it an Australian student over an English one.

You do know that to practice law in Australia you have to have studied Australian constitutional law as well as professional responsibility and accounts at uni in Australia don't you? And that is at an absolute minimum.

You can not practice as a lawyer if you are bankrupt
