Default Daylight hours

hi,

On a recent thread there were a few references to early sunsets in Brisbane. When you think of Australia's attractive climate, you think of temperarures -you don't think about losing daylight hours !!

Can anyone give a rough guide to sunrise and sunset hours in say Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne at around the longest and shortest days of the year ? And how does this impact on the way you live life e.g. do you still get outdoors on evenings after work ?

thanks
G

Bottom line : if you want a subtropical or tropical climate, forget the idea of long summer evenings. And if you have an employer who insists on 9-5 and refuses to think about any flexibility, you will see little daylight in the evenings if you choose to live in Brisbane or anywhere further north.

Hi all

moving to gold coast in January, as there is no daylight saving, do the golf courses open early in the week if there is sun at 4am?

Anyone know?

Cheers

According to my husband (the only one up at silly o'clock) golf courses etc are in use in the early hours. Some have their opening and closing times as daylight to dusk although dusk doesn't really happen. Sun shines, goes down and it's dark

Easy to forget that last light is not necessarily the same as sunset. In Melbourne at least you get that 30min reprieve.

Don't know about GC, but here in Perth I used to tee off around 5 AM before daylight savings came in.
