Hello, just wondering if anyone could advise on which is the better location to live. Have been offered a job which i can do in either location and am stuck for a decision. On paper they both look nice, however any info you can give me would be great. something to let the missis think about. Ta.

Tropical or dry? That's probably one of the most important things. One extreme or the other really! One has only two seasons, wet and dry and the other has 4 more distinct ones. Take a look here for more info http://www.cultureandrecreation.gov....icles/weather/
Not sure I could live in Darwin to be honest
Although I haven't lived there so can't say what it's like....

We live in Darwin (well, Palmerston) and love it
It is not an easy place to live sometimes - Sept/Oct is the 'Build Up' when it gets hot and sweaty nigh on 100% humidity some days and aircon is a must. Once the rains come, it's beautiful again, then from MAy to Sep it is fresh in the mornings (cold at 17 C) and warms up to beautiful clear blue skies and cooling afternoon breezes. Most of the year the high is low 30s C, it is the humidity that makes it tough in the build up.
Saying all that, all buildings are airconditioned and cars are too, so you can always cool down somewhere.
I spent 8 weeks down in SA and it was hot and dusty, with cooler nights. Not really my cup of tea, but then I'm tropicalised now.....

Thanks everyone for the info. The wife has decided that darwin is the way forward. She is from scotland so will probably melt due to the heat but no worries eh? Again thanks for your help.
