Cyclone Clare closes in on WA
I heard it on the news! It seems already reached 195Km/h but fortunately will slow down on the continent, so Perth is not in danger. Also it will create some big waves... :scared:

I work for one of the big mining companies and we have thousands of people up in the Pilbara. We have been getting e-mail updates all day about communications being out but it seems to have passed with relatively little damage. All ships were sent out to see from Dampier, Port Headland etc a few days ago to get clear of it. It seems a well rehearsed drill for something that happens every few weeks over the summer.

That bit of the coast does get hit several times each season - they are well prepared for it, and you can track the storm before it reaches land in the Met site

This one did turn out to be less severe than expected, thank goodness!
