Default CV required for Plumber?

Will my husband be expected to have a CV to get any work in Oz? He has been self-employed for about 12 years, and in this country gets work through word of mouth, so has hasn't actually got a CV.
As we have got Visa from my qualifications, he has not had to do TRA thing, but plans to apply for license while out there. Does anyone know what he would be expected to take along to any 'interview' for a job?

Simple answer would be to knock one up anyway! What harm can it do? It will also show prospective employers that he has made SOME effort, wether they expect a CV or not!

Just list his quallies, areas of particular expertise, Co. worked for and details of self employment. Basically, sell him to his new boss!

If your husband goes on to www.seek.com.au (which is in the seek tool kit) or www.mycareer.com.au (again in tools) he can find a standard resume which he can fill in and which will help. He has to log into both sites first but probably worth it as loads of agencies and jobs on both sites.

Are you sure he doesn't have to do TRA or similar.

The reason I ask this is that I had to do TRA and got it.

Yet when I applied for my plumbing licence( 4 months ago for which I have to do practical and written exams and have no idea as yet when I'll be given the chance to do this) I had to give in references, stat decs etc all the stuff I did for TRA. I'd be surprised if it were easier for your husband as they knew I had to go through TRA to get here.

TRA actually recognise your qualifications, without their recognition how can you get a licence.

If I'm wrong I apologise, but I'm not quite sure.
