Which areas would those be and what times should they be avoided? Thanks:)

what you have to remember is that good news never sells papers. these people are out looking for the most horrible and tragic stories they can find because people are generally morbid and like that sort of stuff. Like a car crash, why does everyone need to slow down and see how bad it is.

Agree, the kid was travelling alone with a fair amount of cash. But it appears that robbery was not the only motivation - they were vicious and rather sadistic in their attack - could have happened to anyone. Wrong place at the wrong time...

I'm talking about the latest incident in which four poor Indians were sadistically stabbed with Screwdrivers by Australians.

in dublin, ireland we have a population of around 2million. Every day someone gets murdered, usually drug related. Its still a fairly safe place. So i'd imagine with melbourne being the size it is and with such a large population its a very safe place compared to dublin;)

Re: crime in melbourne

From what l read theres less crime in Melbourne per head of population then there is in Perth. Tasmania and the ACT have the lowest crime rates and the Norhern Territory had the highest crime rate. l guess theres so little crime in Canberra becasue all the politicans and fat cat public servants get paid so much they don't need to break the law.
