Credit History
Does your credit history follow you over to Oz or not. Not that ours is that bad, but there may be a few discrepencies from a few years ago, just wondered if it carries on over there.

One of the main problems is getting any sort of credit until you have been here for 2 years. Basically as there are no records on you, when they credit check you no history comes back. This means even getting a mobile phone on a contract can prove hard.
We only got a credit card by putting a bond into a savings account for the limit of the card.

This has been asked before and you may find more if you do a search but i think its illegal for any uk credit company to discuss your uk credit with a overseas company good or bad, obviously you may need to check this but bad credit is not traceable from overseas but then again a good credit record is not evident either.

I'm thinking of paying a few quid to Equifax. They can provide you with a complete credit history report. They also show whether you've been good or bad!!
