Friwis....Ahhhh...didnt know about that boot sale...if we do go that route...we were going to go to the Denham Car Boot sale......Have you been there? Thats awesome!!
bridiej.....We have started selling a few bits and pieces on ebay...had ok luck....will probably do a few other things as well....thanks for that
wmoore......We tried that as well.....well similar, we asked the buyers if they wanted to buy anything as the property that they are moving from, they are renting out....but they didnt want anything.....
I am not quite so overwhelmed now....we just emptied the loft and although there appeared to be so much up there...alot of the boxes were mostly empty.....So, thats the first bit of good news we have had for a while....

Hi Hels
FWIW - we have managed to get rid of stuff with our garage sales and the local free paper. We have also given furniture to the local hospice shop to sell - they collected it too- saving us the trouble of transporting it!
We have also used our local Sainsburys superstore, the post office, the corner shop and Homebase advert boards -
My neighbour has givenlarge items like beds to "Social services" to give to people in need too.

Hi ya Helen
Ahhhh....its good to see the good ole Garage sale does work here too...its so much less hassle than going to a boot sale....
You are not going to believe what I just found amongst Pauls family's things in the loft....a fully boxed, with all the bits, a Ronson Escort 2000 Hairdryer.....one of those old hairdryers with the hose and the bag that sits over your rollers and it all puffs up.... it works and everything...havent seen one of these for YEARS!!!
Wondering if I would get anything for it on ebay....its pretty retro...

I had a look on ebay and guess what, someone else is already selling one of these hairdryers...
I think I might see if I cant give it away to someone....They dont appear to be as collectable as I would have thought they might be....
It was pretty cool to find it though...and it certainly bought back memories of when I was a kid....

I went to the Saatchi Gallery in London last week & realised (too late) that I'd missed out on the ideal opportunity to sell our - rather squalid - guest bed as 'Brit Art', for tens of thousands of pounds (so the public could all go puzzle and tut tut over it).
Also an excellent way to get rid of old sump oil (there's a whole room full of it at the Saatchi)
How's that for a 'creative' way to get rid of yer old tat?
Anya.

Hi there
We (or should I say my husband as he did all the work) managed to sell enough things on e-bay that we could afford a month in Greece!!! Have also given loads to charity shops...so much that one woman working there asked us if we were moving!!!! Have used the local paper which was great for furniture and bigger items...tried Loot which was, for us, a waste of time as everyone who contacted us wanted us to bring everything to central London!!! (anyone want a flymo and strimmer??????????????????)
