My husband was caught in traffic during the worst of it. At one point, a bolt of lightning hit the ground a a couple of hundred meters from him. He said everyone in their cars looked around like, "how do we get the heck out of here?" |

We lost power at home for 24 hours - I guess we were more fortunate than some. Office lost power for the evening but was back the next day :frown:
Will forever remember driving through rivers of rain water on Leach Highway, avoiding fallen trees and abandoned cars. Western Power set up a twitter account for updates which I found useful. Shame the information on it was often not correct. It kept showing my suburb as without power and gave an unknown restoration time but in fact power had been restored. The next day they were still reporting my suburb as without power. Did you all remember to submit your claims for the $80 extended outage payment? |
