Crazy hail storm in perth
#1
woooo what a crazy day it was today in north perth, we had hail stones the size of golf balls coming down, as well as so much rain a lot of places were flooded.
I havent seen weather that mad in a long time. Some streets look like a war zone, cars crashed, trees down and even leaves stripped from most trees
I got off lucky and didnt get any broken windows, just some screen doors with big holes in them.
The news was saying some streets were flooded, there was a landslide near kings park, around 150,000 homes without power, chaos
Anyone get caught in it?

I was in the dentist at the time having stitches in my gums and there was a power cut
The dentist had to have his assistant shine a torch in my mouth whilst he was working and now I look like iv done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson

I saw lighning hit a tree and split it in half driving past City Beach, the hailstone we got weren't as bad as elsewhere so fortunately no dents on car. Did arrive home to a leak in the ceiling so lounge was flooded a bit.
Got off pretty likely compared to other people. Having said that there's a big anvil cloud in the distance

My car was parked at work - and is dented all over. Three of my colleague's cars also had their windows smashed by the hail. And the office roof sprang a few leaks.
Phoned the insurance company to get car repaired (if all these dents are repairable). Will have to take the car to an assessment centre in a few days.
Luckily at home everything was okay.

You'll have all the car dealers offering deals on hail damaged stock soon - we have radio ads running for em in Melbourne at the moment.

Walked from RPH to Perth train station during the rain/hail. Slipped and fell on Murray St and the helpful (NOT) residents of Perth walked on by while gawking at me sprawled on the sidewalk with my skirt up around my neck. Bastards
The garage at home was flooded and a bunch of crap we had stored in there is ruined but nothing major.

Yeah we watched this on sky news today, like golf balls
apparently it came out of the blue didn't it? Lets hope it all gets sorted out for everyone real soon, especially the power losses
Some really cool vids on youtube to be seen also.

That was foresight! Glad you're okay though. My husband was caught in traffic during the worst of it. At one point, a bolt of lightning hit the ground a a couple of hundred meters from him. He said everyone in their cars looked around like, "how do we get the heck out of here?"

During lightening, a car is one of the safest places, because it is a Faraday's cage, i.e. you are completely protected (well, protected from lightning, not from falling trees
).
