My post count is only 15 because I use the forum for advice on my visa application. There's nothing wrong with chatting online, but I prefer doing that to friends in real life. My laptop is fine thanks, and thanks to sonlymewalter for the explanation.
And as for taking a chill out pill, I think you need a few yourself. You just can't let it go can you, the threads have been split, get over it. Seems like you're so obsessed with it you can't even accept a genuine apology.

Lets call it a truce now guys. I think everyone needs to get a coldie out of the fridge and start practicing for Australia

Just to clarify guys: This thread is based in the Australia forum and it's OK to chat about everything outside of the visa process in here.
This visa process is frustrating enough without adding to the anxiety and arguing at every opportunity.
Thanks and good luck to everyone re your visa application.

This is no different to any other group. They ask questions in the visa forums and do their chatting in the chat forums.
The visa forum is for people requesting help regarding the visa process and it needs to be kept *clean* so that people can search for help or ask relevant visa questions. All other chit chat needs to go into the relevant forums.

CPV visa discussions carry on as normal here

Thanks - I do get that
......... but occasionally it would be nice to make friendly comments or observations during the Visa process not just ask the 'serious' questions
. This seems to be why things got out of hand and caused the problems and the need to split in the first place.
I realise not everyone wants to wade through Marmite to find answers but a little lighthearted banter amongst the replys and comments did ease the stress of this rollercoaster ride
.
All of the chat here is for those already settled in Oz and I thought there were just these 2 threads (ie CPV chat and Visa and other related queries) available for CPVers, I'll have to search for some other threads now.

Thanks Sue - was a bit scared to speak of anything other than deep & serious questions in case I got my knuckles rapped! Think I'd better change my Profile Picture then just in case I get blacklisted!

Just cos the people in the thread may be on - or applying for - a different visa really doesn't matter, and a lot of the time you'll find that's the way you get to help others in return - they ask what you're applying for, then they say "oooh my mum thought about that" and you can chuck in some info that might be helpful. The main Aus forum (this one) and the Barbie are probably about half and half between those of us already here and those people still waiting to move, so just have a read of some of the topics that interest you and jump in - if nothing else it can give you an insight into how things work over here
- or don't work as the case may be!Don't know if you've also found the two Meet-up forums - one for the UK and one for Aus - not for everyone I admit, and when I first met up with a crowd of strangers off the internet I was actually terrified, but it turned out to be the best thing I ever did. I often see posts from people saying they wish they could talk to people in the same boat, and these meets are such a good way of doing it - especially if you've got chatting to someone before you move and then you get to meet them out here - can be quite surreal

I miss the sparkling wit and helpful comments and the advice pages are few and far between nowadays.
