Default cost of living again11

I have been asked by the court to put together a 'lifestyle information' pack (on going case re permission to take the children without fathers consent ) anyway, have got most things sorted ie examples of property specks, school info, salary scales etc. I have done search through the forum on 'cost of living and kind of averaged what i could find - can any one tell me if i am way off with any of these estimates, they are for a family of four (two adults, two teenagers) per month living in adelaide. Also have i missed anything?

*average cost in for family of four Per month
$ £
Rent 1000 400
Electricity 85 34
Gas 50 20
Water 70 28
Council Rates 85 34
Emergency service levy
30 12
two cars:
Petrol 200 80
Registration 80 32
Insurance 32 12.8
Phone and internet 100 40
Medical insurance 250 100

Thanks
Jax

Sounds about right. (I think) What area are you going to be in though, as some places can be very different for rent.

I thought council rates are normally included in rent and, in some cases, water also?

Hi Lynn... our rent includes rates & the water supply charges (we have to pay for water usage though)... I assume this is the same everywhere in WA.

thanx for that.
How would you compare the cost of living there in comparison to the u.k.(assuming your'e from the u.k.,).
I get the impression so far that it is 'swings and roundabouts'
.Cost of buying cars,much difference?
