Hi Guys,
How much approximately are we looking at to emigrate?
I don't think we would be using an agent so those fees wouldn't apply, but what else is there?
Need to start saving!!!
Cheers

How much is very very subjective, but to name a few
Visa application costs
Medicals/police checks
Qualification approval checks
House Sale costs
Medical insurance
Travel costs
Pets?
International removal costs
Initial holiday accommodation costs
Large deposit for short term rental
Extra baggage costs
Hours and Hours and Hours of research (the most costly of all costs imho)
Good Luck

Hi, can only speak from my own experience to date. With removals and flights and agents etc. I've spent £15,000 give or take a couple of hundred. Imo the agents were well worth it, and the cost was relativley small in comparison with every thing else.

Ours has cost us about £8000 so far - don't see any more costs cropping up except living expenses in Aus.....!
We had an agent.
roughly speaking
£1500 agents fees
£1500 Visa and skills assessment fees
£3000 Shipping
£1400 Air Fares
£100 Insurance
£200 Hotel in london prior to flying
£500 Medicals
£70 Police Checks

Then there's the cost associated with loss of salary until you find another job in Aus. Especially pertinent if you gave up a job in UK.
It's not important in the sense it was an obvious consideration, but non the less it's a cost associated with emigrating.

I reckon 15,000 sounds about right for us too. Family of 2 adults and 2 children.
Agents - £3,500 - shop around for them is my advice. Glad we used 1 but the most expensive isn't ncessarily the best.
Good Luck, Lou

Note: numbers need to be typed on the number pad (right of the keyboard) not on the row of numbers along the top of the keyboard.
