Hi Mo am not a correctional officer but hubby works for Queensland Government as a procurement officer and at the moment is seconded to the Correctional Services division. This is because most of the facilities are being rebuilt or upgraded and there is a lot of equipment/services being tendered for at the moment.
The facilities are growing very quickly and once finished will need to be staffed (I don't think the current workforce will be big enough!)

Tell your hubby to register with SMART jobs which is the government website and to keep an eye out for when the positions become available.

My hubby is actually visiting one of the sites today so if I can get in touch with him (mobile phones are not allowed for obvious reasons and he may already be on his way there) I will see if he can get any more info and I will PM you.
