Default Copied CD's, and DVD's

A question maybe many have thought about but not posted, might affect many, might not? But i have about ALOT of copied CD's and DVD's, now the original master i do not have, as i have copies, none of these copies was bought from anyone. I have either borrowed and copied, from friends, library etc etc. Download mp3's put onto a disc, again, many given to me.

Now when you have a copied CD or DVD, you do not have the master, you have not paid for the original.

Has anyone shipped these over in boxes, these are the only things i intend to ship, nothing else, is it safe, will questions be asked, if so is it best to throw them all away, and not ship, or is there no probelm shipping copied CD's and DVD's, which arer only for personal use?

Cheers!

Well that is piracy. I shipped loads of burnt CD's & DVD's. No questions asked.

Why not rip them all to a hard drive?

Ripping 800 odd to the hard drive, time? Rather throw them, than risk problems.

Yep it is piracy in a word, but just wondered what others thought or have done?

Cheers

Brought over about 400 copied DVDs - got to love Lovefilm!!!

No problems, the shippers put them in the same box as books and just wrote books on the top!

Take a chance. Just write DVDs and CDs on the box. If you get caught you get caught. Probably just confiscate them at worst.

In a joint operation involving the Australian Federal Police and Australian Customs Service, an estimated 35,000 pirated Digital Versatile Discs (DVDs) have been seized and federal agents have arrested a woman in Melbourne.

The joint operation was initiated after the AFP received a referral from the Australasian Film and Video Security Office.

The seizure was made after Customs officers examined an airfreight package that arrived in Australia via the Melbourne International Airport. The package, which allegedly originated in Malaysia, was described as containing 650 blank recordable compact discs (CD-Rs).

Federal agents and Customs officers examined the CD-Rs, which were identified as pirated DVD copies of a range of movies. A pirated DVD is an illegal copy of a DVD on which copyright has not been paid.

Hi,
When I migrated here 2 years ago, I also had many 'non genuine' assorted cd's and dvd's. I just packed them into a box with a label saying music cd's on it!.
Customs never questioned the box, they were more interested in the 'xmas pine cone decorations' that I didn't have but had to pay them $150.00 for the priviledge of them destroying the 'ghost' decorations.

The risks would be up to you!!

We binned all of ours before we flew, every single one. Figured it just wasn't worth it.

The key difference here is that it appears to be a commercial operation with intent to supply, not backups for personal use.
