coomera, gold coast
hi everyone,
can anyone give us any advice on the area of coomera, upper coomera and coomera waters. we have been looking over the net for places to rent and coomera keeps on popping up, lots of nice new houses to rent at quite reasonable rates(why?). we were over in dec having a good look round ,but everywhere looked nice! also we have 2 girls, 12 and 10 so schools are on the agenda as well
many thanks
sam

Hi Sam we have friends who have just moved from upper Coomera to Oxenford which is very close. We were there in February and there was a lot of house building going on close to them. we looked around the new builds and saw some really good properties. She has been in that area for 4 years and has 3 children aged 6-17 they all go to the same private school not sure of name but its a church school and she is really pleased with it and the kids are happy
they are not that far out of Brisbane she works at Logan and they are close enough to large shopping centres and near Surfers so a good location. It was baking hot though compared to Bayside
I expect the people actually there though will be able to help you more
best wishes mary

Re: coomera, gold coast
Went and had a look around Coomera Waters recently and it's a brand new huge houseing estate on the north side of the Coomera river. A BIG selling point is that a lot of the houses are waterfront (on the river) which means mega bucks for the price. It's virtually opposite Scantuary Cove on the GC side. I didn't see any shops or shopping centres on the estate itself and I think the only ones are back in Coomera (about 10kms away by the GC motorway). I suspect they will be building a shopping centre eventually as it's big enough to warrant one.
It's pretty close to the GC beaches but on the wrong side of the Coomera river and their is no bridge across unless you go inland to the motorway. Forget the beaches here as they are all mud flats or mangroves but if you are into boating their is a maze of waterways to explore (a lot of which are undeveloped islands).
Most of the development seems to be in seperate walled complexes with lots of cichanes to slow cars down and so making it very safe. It's closer to the GC (30 mins) than Brisbane (45mins (outside of rush hour)) and their is a train station to Brisbane about 10 minutes away.
