hi all, lot of happy people today on here, well done and good luck to you all. hope we can join you all soon

On our minds...my wife has applied for a subclass 136 skilled migration visa...shes a nurse but i have a drink driving conviction from 1996. no other convictions and shes got a clean record....ive read other threads regarding this stuff but eveybodys case is different. anyone been in the same boat or any help or hints would be great..

That was 10 years ago mate. Half the OZ parliament have been there. Hopefully the 1996 was not "the 100th case of getting caught".

Dont think this is an area for which a visa refusal is based. Hopefully you learnt your lesson - Dont Drink And Drive, you might spill it

lol. cheers buddy, no, its just the once. both squeeky clean other than that. i was out on the town in my college days and my dad had a brain hemmorage..i got a message..and jumped in car to get home...didnt crash or anything, just got pulled up and breathalised

hi Richard

dont worry about that conviction. i too have a criminal record for minor offences years ago and didnt cause any problems! as long as your not a crime lord or served time in the slammer she be right mate. my wife is a nurse and we came into oz last year. need any more help or questions u can email me address removed
good luck with the process and hang in there

I had a drink drive in 87 a spell at her magesty's pleasure and a slap on the wrist for fighting

JUST make sure you tell them from the onset and you will be ok

by the way we got visas no problem and fly out mid july

The form asks if you have EVER been convicted off an offence.
