Default Contractor rather employee in Aus

The more I think about it the more I expect/want to work as a contractor for a few months when we arrive in Aus. In the UK that generally means better rates and the chance to deduct expenses from tax but you lose out on life insurance, redundancy cover, etc.

In the UK you can either set yourself up as a company, be an employee of the agency, be a sole trader etc.

How does this work in Australia? What are the options and implications? (I am an accountant so asking about professionals / office work rather than tradies here.)
