The prices seem to have risen a lot in the past few months. I think the shippers are making hay while the sun shines.
Hi,
Your quote seems expensive, our quote for £3500 with Whites is only 1 month old South Wales-Adelaide,plus the container will be shipped from Felixstowe or Southampton, which you are closer to both.

Hi
got Whites coming to estimate this week....... Three more to follow, plus another self packing option to come ........I've spent today estimating our cubic footage (I know.. sado!, keeps out of the pub) and I make it around 600 even with a 25% margin for cock ups. It'll be interesting to know how far away I am. A 20' FCL is around 1100cub.' I reckon it'll be the same cost as if it were full to the gunnels.....
waiting with baited breath!

Whilst the FCL costs from door to Sydney seems OK at around £1700 - the cost of local wharfage unloading for inspection ( for AQIS and Customs)at the quayside, clearance and costs of re delivery to a storage depot within 10 miles comes in at $3195 (£1330) + GST, which seems high to me, or is it me? (I was expecting to pay around £500) . This is excluding any AQIS/Customs charges that may/may not be levied - and the cost of us providing packing boxes/materials, which'll bring the total to nearer £3500 :scared:
...my point being , based on this quote , there's not to be gained by self packing , I've read that the normal savings to be made are in the region of £1500, or am I out of touch?

Hiya,

The Removal group.com quoted us £2700 door to door to Sydney from Borehamwood. This was self packed, but assistance to load the container was included (apparently the containers are 6 ft off the ground so not easy to load unless you are very strong, and very tall!!))
Hope this helps
Tanya
