we are in the process of booking our container and I remember seeing on this site a while ago a competitive insurance company for our goods ( going to perth )
we have a 20 ft container with no main expensive items .

I see that you have a plumbing company in Australia , I'm a plumber going to Perth at the of January .I've just applied for my licence to get the ball rolling, could you please give me any advise of what tools I should bring over.
I need my tools here in the uk until we fly as I've got work to finish off , so will have to air freight them .

I think only you can answer that question, you know the type of work you do and what tools you'll need.

very thing apart from benders and pipe slices, also dont bother with 110v, tools are pricey here, bring everything you can get your hands on, also grab a rothenburger core set, you know the one, in a case and goes up to 6'", i looked at buying some new core bits and nearly had a coronary followed by a heat attack, i bought one in the uk for about 120 quid, same set here is around 750 bucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

240 v with new plugs, as for breakers i dont see to many of them, loads of cordless, i use all milwakee cordless here, if your gunna get into plumbing here look at tools online at places like tools direct, look at things like nail guns ect, if their cheap enough in blighty bring one with you. also a water fed tile cutter like the cheap ones in b & Q, thrity quid i think, well worth throwing one in the container, i left loads of stuff i didnt think id need and now regret it. circ saws chop saws anything, trust me as a plumber here you will end up doing allsorts, im having to do concreting , build studd walls, lay the odd brick, never ends, any more questions fire away. as for the hard transformation dont worry about it, if you just accept the way it is here and get on with it you will have no probs, only people ive seen struggle have been the ones that moan all the time about the work ect, the licence is tuff to get round but remember that it makes you qualified and eble to work as a plumber, therefor stopping the chancers doing it, remember in the uk anyone can do plumbing as its not licenced, here its not the case.

I just shipped 60 kilos of stuff from the UK to Aus and got my quote through transglobal express (previously mentioned on this site). It's coming by air and the price was much better than going direct to a courier company. You might want to get an idea of the weight of the tools you intend to ship so you can get a quote on your costs in advance.
