Default Container due 18 Dec, how long will Xmas delay things?

HI there,
just found out our shipping (shared container) will leave UK 12 Nov and arrive Freo, Perth 18 Dec. Worried that it will sit in port for a couple weeks minimum and possibly longer, anyone have any clues as to how long it will take to clear customs at this time of year and if we'll incur additional charges for the delay?

Mine arrived Brisbane Christmas Eve 2 3 years ago, and wasn't cleared till Feb 18th cos of Christmas delays. Didn't cost any extra cos it was covered in the contract until it cleared Customs.

Hey, that's the same date as ours is also leaves the UK so wonder if our stuff is on the same ship? We're on the Maersk Decatur, and our shipment to Sydney arrives 21st December. We were hoping ours would clear by mid-Jan latest - worried now!

No, and no.

We are in Bendigo, Victoria and we never incurred any charges apart from a quarantine charge of $240.

Good luck with yours.
