Howdo,
My mam emigrated to Australia when she was 9 years old with my grandparents, I think it was a permanent visa.
She came back to the UK when she was 14 (i don't know why either).
If she did have a permanent visa, will it still be valid? if yes, what does this mean for me?
Can anybody please??
Cheers
Richie

Mr B's mum was born in the UK (Newcastle, in fact) and emigrated to Oz when she was 5. However, she stayed there and married an Aussie, which may have made all the difference. She was definitely an *aussie*.
Did your grand parents come back too? Surely after 5 years she'd have had some sort of residency?
Worth investigating somehow, although not sure where you'd start

H RichyT23,
start with lots of documents and a good agent!!!
I suppose it all depends on whether her parents became Oz citizens.
bye

I hope it all works out ok.
My husbands parents moved out to Oz when he was a boy. They had PR visas and although they were there long enough they didn't bother applying for citizenship. Having the PR means nothing, DH and I had to apply for our own PRs and DHs parents are considering moving back and have to reapply all over again as if they had never been there.
DH's grandmother was an Aussie by birth which would have counted for something, but she died a few years ago and the Aussie link died with her

I don't think they applied for citizenship, so that idea has gone out of the window.
Just going through my various options.
I'm not sure which Visa to go for, the skilled visa seems the best bet so far.
Cheers
